Alaska

On July 8th we started our 9 day vacation. We left around 5 p.m. and drove to Boise, Idaho where we stayed in a hotel we had been to before. We were really impressed with our previous stay and wanted to break up the drive to Seattle, so we thought that would be the perfect place. The next day we finished our drive to Seattle and went straight to Safeco Field where we watched the Mariners play the Yankees. Although we were exhausted from the long drive, it was fun to be in the atmosphere and watch a Major League baseball game. Our plan was to stay in Seattle that night, but every hotel anywhere near Seattle was full. So we ended up calling Brett's aunt Andrea at 11:30pm, who lives 45 minutes out of Seattle, and thanks to her we had a nice place to sleep and an awesome breakfast the next morning! Later that morning we drove to Pier 66, which is where we boarded our ship. We had never cruised in a room with a balcony before, but this time I am so glad we did! We saw the most beautiful sunsets and scenery I have ever seen. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for making us such a beautiful place to live!

Ketchikan, Alaska

The second day of our cruise we went to Ketchikan. We walked around the city and saw the Salmon Farm and Salmon Ladders and all the totem poles, which are really famous there.

Juneau, Alaska

The 3rd day of our cruise we went to Juneau. We took a shuttle to Mendenhall Glacier, the driver was kind of weird, but gave us a very good run down of the city, pointing out what and where everything was. This was my first time seeing a glacier and I must say, it's different then I thought it was going to be. I though all glaciers floated in the water instead of going over mountains like the big ones here did. We had beautiful weather and got to see about 15 eagles flying over an inlet, that when the tide is high fills up with water, looking for Salmon to eat. That night we cruised to Sawyer Glacier. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful it was. There were lots and lots of the skinny tall water falls and the water was aqua blue. We kept our eyes out for whales, but saw dolphins instead, which I can live with!

Skagway, Alaska & Prince Rupert, B.C.

Our next stop was Skagway. It was a small windy, cold little town, but had fun shops to walk through. We took a 3 hour train ride through the country. We saw some cool scenery and it was my first time riding on a train, but it was really long! The next day we went to Prince Rupert in British Columbia. We weren't there very long, but we got amazingly close to a wild eagle. I think they are such awesome birds! The next day and a half we headed back to Seattle. We got off the ship really fast and where going to wonder around Seattle for a while, but it was so early on a Saturday that nothing was open so we made our way back home. It was a nice relaxing vacation, I don't think I've ever slept so much, but it was so nice to lay down with the balcony door open and listen to the ocean. Thank you so much Brett for taking me! I love you!

So...the "Alaska" posts are in opposite order and I can't figure out how to reverse them. If any of you blogger savvy people know how to do this let me know...other wise start reading from the bottom up :)

Girls Camp

For girls camp we went to Valley View Stake Camp in Liberty. I didn't get to stay the whole time because Brett and I left to go on a trip, but we did a lot of fun stuff while I was there, including swimming, hiking, an obstacle course, a faith walk, and much more. One of the other leaders is amazing at crafts so we got to make little notebooks out of scrapbook paper, marshmallow guns, stuff with lavender and a ton of other things. We missed the girls that couldn't be there, but I love and adore all of the girls, they are great and we had a really fun time!

My Momma's Birthday

Last Wednesday was my mom's birthday and she wanted to go to Park City, so me, Wes, my mom, and dad (Brett had to work) went to lunch, road the Alpine Slide and Alpine Coaster then went shopping at the outlets. On our way home we picked up dinner so that we could eat with Brett and had cake and ice cream. It was a great day and I'm so glad I got to spend it with my family.

It's a GIRL!!

Last Monday Brett came with me to my big "20 week"ultrasound. We got to see the heart, lungs, spine, brain and much more as well as find out that we are going to be blessed with a baby girl! It was amazing to see her little heart beating and I loved seeing her little hands and feet (I can't wait touch and kiss them!) Brett is so excited to be the daddy of a little girl, I know she will just melt his heart! I am one lucky lady to be so blessed with a great husband & family. I love them so much and I can't wait for our baby girl to meet all of them.
