18 Months

My little girl is growing up too fast! It used to seem like it would be forever till she was in nursery (I never was excited for her to go, I always loved having her with me) and now the time has come, which is sort of a good thing becasue she could use a little eperience in the "sharing" department. She is so full of energy and loves exploring new things. Although she likes to test her limits she is usually good at minding us when we tell her not to do something. She has already started throwing tantrums, but they usually happen because she is tired. It has been fun to watch her copy cat our actions or repeat words that we say. She is a total Mommas girl and is just like I was to my mom when I was little, her shadow. We just love her to pieces and even though she can be a little monster (when she cries for 3 1/2 hours on the way to Moab) she is the best thing that has ever happened to us!

Also, I thought I'd add on here that Brooklyn got her last vaccination until kindergarten today 5/2/12...yea!!
Here are her percentages for 18 months:
Ht: 88%
Wt: 5%
H.C.: 50%

Moab

Last Friday we headed to Moab with my two brothers and their friend Scott. The ride down was a little rough, Brooklyn slept for 45 minutes then cried pretty much the whole way after that, and we didn't shut the fridge all the way so when I went into the trailer to change Brooklyn I found cracked eggs and tomatoes all over the floor! :( Brett and I were about to lose our minds, but we got it all cleaned up and Brooklyn was so good once we got there. Once we found where we were going to camp we set up, relaxed, made dinner, and had a camp fire. On Saturday we went to Arches Nationa Park and hiked to Delicate Arch. Such beautiful country! Chase rented a dirt bike and him and Scott went riding. Brooklyn had a blast playing in the dirt and chasing the dogs from our camping neighbors. She took a good nap so she was able to stay up for some of the fire. She kept saying "hot hot". On Sunday we took our time getting up and made a yummy breakfast then packed up and headed home. The weather was beautiful! It was so nice not to have to bundle up to keep warm, even at night.

Here are some pictures from our trip

This is Brooklyn half asleep on the way to the arch.

Sob Story

This past week I have felt like I am walking up an escalator that is going down. No matter how much I do I feel like I accomplished nothing. For example, I cleaned out our closet that has a filing cabinet in it. I moved everything inside of it downstairs into a bigger filing cabinet and organized all the papers and threw away lots! That took me all afternoon and when I went back up to the closet I realized that that big job that I had just done hardly got me any closer to a clean closet. Another example, I was getting our camping menu/shopping list ready. I had everything written out according to meals and what I needed to get at the store. As I was thinking about where I was going to grocery shop I found myself gettting stressed out. I needed to go to one store for the meat one store for produce, and one store where I could get alot of stuff for a lot less than most stores (I'm weird like that)... that's three stores I have to wander through to get what I need plus I have a 17 mon old that I have to get home in time for a nap or in time to make dinner, so I become STRESSED OUT. I try so hard to be an organized person, but I think I spend more time thinking about how to be organized than I do actually being organized.
So, until I figure out how to be "Super Woman" I guess I'll just keep taking little time outs every now and then to keep from making myself go insane.

Thank your for reading my sob story! Sometimes a girls just got to vent :)

Happy Easter

I hope everyone had a happy Easter!!

I am extremely grateful for and love this time of year! I love seeing all the new life - flowers blooming, trees blossoming, baby animals being born and I can't help but notice what seems like hundreds of ladies with big bellies. :)
I am also glad that we get to celebrate Christ's resurection. I am so grateful for his sacrifice that we may be forgiven of our sins and that we may see our loved ones who have passed on and live with them and Heavenly Father and Jesus forever. What a perfect time for the resurection to happen, in the spring, when its all about new life!

We had a lot of fun this year. I think these type of holidays are always a little bit more fun when you have kids. On Saturday we went to the easter egg hunt/candy dash at Pleasant View Park. They had the park divided out for each age group. For the 1-3 yr olds they had placed candy on the grass and let the kids run and pick up as many as they could or wanted. We stayed behind the crowd and picked up the candy that they had missed...Brooklyn doesn't eat Laffy Taffy or Tootsie Rolls and Brett and I didn't want them so we figured a few would be just fine and she thought that was great.

After the easter egg hunt we went to breakfast at Moores in Brigham City.
Today was also my brother Chase's birthday so our whole family (most of them) and some of his friends went to dinner then to Speed Street to race go-carts and have cake, which is like a birthday tradition in our family.
(I will post pictures as soon as I get them from my mom.)

Sunday after Brooklyn found her easter basket we went to church then headed to Brett's parents for dinner and an easter egg hunt. Mark had hid 35 eggs and lucky Brooklyn is their only grandchild that lives in Utah so she got to find all of them. We weren't sure if she would be old enough to be interested in finding them, but she did really good and had so much fun.

Jeanie is always really good to put together something spiritual for holidays centered around Christ so we watched a video clip of when he went and prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. What a great way to remember all that Christ endured for us!

I guess thats all for now. Hope you have a great day!

Baby Animal Days

Today Brooklyn and I went with my friend Erin and her 3 girls (one is 7 weeks old...so cute!) to the Baby Animal Days at the American West Heritage Center. Brooklyn is a big animal lover so I thought she would like to go see the animals and sure enough, she loved them! The little squeal she does when she sees each animal is priceless! Erin's girls are so cute and were such good helpers with Brooklyn, making sure she had her had on when it was windy and picking her up when she tripped on a blade of grass. We had a lot of fun!

Here are some pictures...
Here's a picture of the cute girls and the back of Brooklyn's head.

The baby bears were so cute!

Park Day

We got to go to to the park with Kara, Kara's little girl Payten and Kara's Sister Melissa. Brooklyn and Payten are 3 months apart and are so cute together. Brooklyn has been afraid to go down slides until she saw payten do it. Now she goes down all by herself! Thanks Payten!

We haven't seen them for a while so it was so good to get together and let the girls play!
