For Brett's dads birthday last year (Sept 2009), Mark surprised Brett, his brother Lance and our brother-in-law Ryan with a guys fishing trip to Alaska in Aug. 2010 . Kind of odd that he wanted to surprise them with such a GREAT gift when it was his birthday, but that's just how Brett's parents are...family means most to them! Last year in September it seemed like next August was so far away, but here we are and looking back it FLEW BY! They had beautiful weather, amazing food, made great memories that will last a life time, and brought their wives back some awesome fresh fish! Thank you Mark and Jeanie for giving Brett that opportunity! We Love You!
My mother-in-law showed Brett and I this video on Sunday. Although it is a sad story its a great reminder of what life is all about. It doesn't matter what we look like on the outside, it's all about what is in our hearts. I am already grateful for my life, but watching this video made me want to try a little harder to cherish every trial, every moment with my family and friends, and every single day. She also has a great blog if you want to follow her at nieniedialogues.blogspot.com
Chase arrived home from his mission in Finland on the 29th. His plane got in at 9:30pm, it was running a little late so we were all waiting quite impatiently for him to walk out were we would get to greet him. He came home with 4 or 5 other missionaries who served in Finland as well. They came out holding a Finnish flag. What a relief to finally have him home knowing that he served an honorable 2 year 20 day mission that he could look back on with great memories and know that he changed peoples lives for eternity!
