Bath Tub

Brooklyn loves to carry soft things around whether it's one of my t-shirts, a kitchen towel, her blanket, or her pink wash wrags which is what she's holding in this picture. She'll put them over her head like she's trying to wear them or just cuddle with them up by her face. She's always loved feeling or putting her cheek against soft things one day I'll get a picture of her doing that so you know what I mean :) The other morning I had her fish bath mat that is in this picture hanging on the shower rod so it could dry after washing it. When I was doing her hair she kept reaching for it like she wanted to play with it so I told her I would put it in the tub and she could get in and sit on it. I sat next to the tub watching her point to the fish and play with her wash wrag for a while then asked her if she wanted to get out so that I could go do some laundry, but she wanted to stay in. I decided to leave her there and go put a load in. When I went back to check on her a few minutes later this is how I found her....just chillin

This Week

For some reason whenever I attempt to make bread bowls they "spread out" instead of "rising up". The first time I made them, in a long time, I put 4 of them on a cooking sheet to rise and when I checked on them them were completely flat and spread out to cover the whole pan. I decided to cook them anyway and cut them into breadsticks, which worked ok, but would have risen even a little bit. I thought maybe the yeast that I used in them was old so I threw it out and bought brand new fresh yeast. A few weeks later I tried to make them again, with the new yeast, and the same thing happened. So again, I baked them and cut them into bread sticks. Instead of throwing the rest that we could not choke down, I decided that it would be fun to go feed the ducks at Beus Park, so thats what we did this week.

P.S.
I gave up making homemade bread bowls :)

When the geese and ducks saw us with "food"
they all came hurding toward us.
My brother has been bitten, pecked, honked
(or whatever you want to call it) by a goose,
so when they came running toward us I threw the bag
of bread to Brett and grabbed Brooklyn and ran. I'm a scardy cat I know!
But look at these suckers...they're massive!

Look at my brave husband feeding these giants!

Brooklyn had a blast watching them and walking/running on the trail. She would have loved for them to chase her all day. Now I know that when my bread making skills don't come through its not a complete waste of all that flour ;)

Something else Brooklyn and I did this week was visit our friends who were in town from Connecticut. Lauren and I have been friends since I can remember and I always love seeing her and her family. She has a daughter that is about 9 months older than Brooklyn and this time they were old enough to actually play together. It was so fun to watch them play and catch up!
