Pictureless Blowout

Brooklyn had her first blowout today, I won't go into detail, but I had to write a post about it. The good news is...we were at home where I could get her changed and in to the tub quickly, the bad news is...I didn't think to take pictures till I was changing her and Brett wasn't home so no pictures. I'm sure you are really sad you don't get to see pictures of it. haha

Experienced Baker

I believe I have one of the best moms in the whole world, not to mention cutest. Everyone who knows her loves her and everyone who doesn't know her would love her too. You would never know the trials she has gone through because she is so strong and positive. I envy her sense of humor, easygoingness (is that a word) and zest for life. She has always made dinner for our family every night, she is such a great cook, but has struggled with baking from time to time :) I hope she doesn't mind me sharing this, but I have to share some of the baking stories she has had lately because I think they are so funny and show how when life gives her lemons , she makes lemonade. So...

..I think I get my joy of trying new recipes from her. She's always trying something new, some work out and are really good and some not so much, but it's all about giving it your best effort, right? Well lately she has been having trouble with the least difficult but simple recipes like Rice Krispie treats and making a cake out of a box. She called me to get the Rice Krispie Treat recipe off of my box of Rice Krispies because she had boughten the generic kind, so I gave it to her and she made them and thats the last I had heard. Well, the next day I went up to their house while everyone was at work to do some laundry while we were waiting for our new washer and dryer to get delivered and saw the pan of rice krispies, so I though, Mmm those look good maybe I'll have one. As I went to cut a piece I couldn't help but notice they were solid as a rock. I picked up one corner and the whole thing lifted up like a brick. To this day we can't figure out what she did wrong. The next story happened just a few days ago. My family was coming back from Vegas and on their way asked Chase what kind of cake he wanted and he said he wanted a confetti cake that you make out of the box. So, they stopped at the store on their way home and bought the cake, keep in mind she said that my brother Wes was rushing them to get home so he could hang out with some friends before the night was over. The box of cake mix that she thought she had bought ended up being a confetti sugar cookie mix. (When did they come out with confetti sugar cookie mix?) It was sunday so she didn't want to go to the store to buy the mix that she meant to buy in the first place and she always makes us the cake that we want for our birthday so she decided to omit the butter that it asked for and upped the amount of eggs and make it into a cake. What do ya know...it was actually really good! Way to go mom! Now I might just have to invite her over and have a Rice Krispie making lesson :)

Day of Birthday's

We had a fun day on Sunday with family. First, we went to Brett's parents to celebrate my sister-in-laws birthday. Brett's mom and dad made a delicious turkey dinner then we went up to my parents to celebrate my brother's birthday and watched him open presents and had cake and ice cream. I wish I had more pictures from the birthday parties, but I was in charge of my parents camera at their house so I didn't get very many with mine, but here are a few along with some other ones of Brookie.

On our way up to my parents Brooklyn fell asleep and this is how we found her when we went to get her car seat out of the car. Funny girl...I guess she could't sleep with the sun in her eyes. haha

Peas

For the last couple of weeks Brook has been trying out rice cereal. She's to the point now where she knows when to open her mouth and is getting better at swallowing atleast some of the food instead of pushing it out with her tongue and having drip down her chin. She would take a few bites of the cereal and then she was done, not too excited about it. A couple of days ago I had to give her some apple juice not because I wanted to (not a big fan of giving kids fruit juices) but because she's been needing help going to the bathroom, unfortunately it didn't help her go, but she seemed to really enjoy it...of course, who doesn't like a sweet drink, especially after drinking boring mama milk :) Then, today we tried PEAS. At first her face looked like she was saying, "What is this and why are you putting it in my mouth?"...but after a few bites she was loving them and kept opening her mouth for more. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she won't be a picky eater...so far so good!!
