Oregon Coast

Last week we went to Depoe Bay, Orgegon with Brett's family. We used Brett's aunt's time share so we were able to stay in a nice condo right off the ocean.
On Friday we drove to Pedleton where we stayed the night in a hotel. On the way there we stopped in Boise to see Brett's aunt Andrea and their new home, which was beautiful.

We passed this driving down the freeway...pretty sweet!
Then on Saturday we finished the drive there after stopping in Portland to visit one of Brett's dad's co-workers. There house was nestled in a little forest surrounded by berry bushes, ponds & streams and lots of trees, such a beautiful place to raise their 3 little daughters.

This is the road to their house...
..and this is the stream by their house.
Brooklyn was such a good girl the WHOLE way, even through sitting in almost 3 hours of traffic. We were a little worried when we first started because she's never been the best at long car rides, but she stayed busy with her movies and new activities that I bought just for this trip, the DVD cases kept her pretty entertained (for hours) too. :)
This is how she fell asleep one of the times
Almost there

Once we got there we just enjoyed being out of the car.

On Monday we mostly just took it easy, which is what we decided this vacation was for. So, we chilled in our pj's and went to the Farmer's Market and got some delicious bluberries, blackberries, strawberries, and corn on the cob.

On Monday Brett's parents went to pick up his sister and her family who were flying in from California after visiting her in-laws near Eugine OR. While they were doing that we went to  a beach, saw Devils Punch Bowl and found a beautiful one-way road that was sooo green!

The rest of the time we played with cousins who we don't get to see very often,

had fun on the beach blowing bubbles, looking in tide pools for star fish, playing in the sand, and flying kites,

eating yummy seafood,

going to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and county fair,

JoDee Messina

going for walks and ejoying the beautiful weather and scenery,

and visiting the Portland temple.

One last picture of Brooklyn having fun with her stickers on the way home.

On the way back Brett's parents and brother stayed with Jeanie's sister in Boise, but Brett and I decided  to head straight home and got there at about 2 am.
It was such a fun trip and we are glad that we got to spend some quality time with family.

P.S.
Sorry about the picture dump, hopefully it didn't bore you too bad!

  1. Looks like a fun trip. We went there a few years ago and loved it. Did you get to see any whales? I'm glad your cute little girl did good on the drive. Thanks for sharing your trip.
